Santosh Lad: Strength Of Every Campaign
In the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad campaigned in support of Congress candidate Ms. Tharahai Cuthbert from the Colachel constituency. His efforts played a significant role in the party candidate’s victory.

Santosh Lad: Enabling Mobility, Empowering Lives
Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad celebrated his birthday meaningfully on February 27, 2026, at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru. In collaboration with the Labour Department and various industries and organisations across the state, motorised tricycles were distributed to persons with disabilities. A total of 1,608 tricycles were distributed across Karnataka, providing greater mobility and independence to specially abled individuals. Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and various seers who attended the programme wholeheartedly appreciated and lauded Santosh Lad for extending this support and becoming a source of strength for persons with disabilities.

Buddha, Basava and Ambedkar — Santosh Lad Upholds Their Ideals
To carry the ideologies of Buddha, Basava and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to future generations, the Santosh Lad Foundation organized a seminar titled “Buddha, Basava and Ambedkar: A New Perspective” in Dharwad, Chitradurga, Davanagere and Hosapet The programme brought together thinkers, professors, writers and spiritual leaders, who created awareness about the philosophies and ideas of Buddha, Basava and Ambedkar. They also highlighted the continued relevance of the values advocated by these three great visionaries in contemporary society. The heads of various religious institutions who presided over the different sessions also shared their experiences and perspectives.

Yoga Ratna Awards- Santosh Lad Honours Excellence and Dedication in Yoga.
As part of the International Yoga Day celebrations, the Santosh Lad Foundation organised the ‘Yoga Ratna Award’ ceremonies in Ballari and Bengaluru in June 2024 and June 2025. The awards were presented to distinguished yoga practitioners from across the world who have achieved excellence in the field of yoga. The ceremonies were attended by former Chief Minister Shri Siddaramaiah, Minister Shri Santosh Lad, several dignitaries, and various seers and heads of religious institutions.

Santosh Lad: Standing Strong with His Constituency
Minister Santosh S. Lad has made addressing the concerns of people in his constituency, Kalaghatagi-Alnavar, a priority. In August 2026, he reviewed crop damage and drought conditions in the taluk, distributed compensation for livestock deaths and damaged houses, and assured farmers that he would submit a report to the government and make every effort to secure compensation for crop losses.

From Drought to Heavy Rains: Santosh Lad Stands by Farmers
Santosh S. Lad, following the Chief Minister’s instructions, reviewed the drought situation and development works in Dharwad district in August 2026. He visited affected farmlands, heard farmers’ grievances, and directed officials to ensure fodder and drinking water for livestock. His visit brought hope and reassurance to the farmers.

43 Ambedkar Labour Service Centers: Santosh Lad A Ray of Hope for Workers
A number of welfare and social security schemes are being implemented for the welfare of the registered building and construction workers. To ensure that workers’ access government benefits conveniently at their localities, the Welfare Board, under the leadership of Honorable Labour Minister and Chairman Sri Santosh S Lad, has planned to set up AI-based labour service centers and mobile labour service units named after Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar under the jurisdictions of 43 labour officers.

Santosh Lad Takes Healthcare Beyond Hospitals — 100 Hi-Tech Mobile Health Units
In accordance with the Board’s vision to safeguard the health and well-being of registered construction workers’ and their families across Karnataka, 100 Mobile Health Unit Vehicles equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities have been launched and dedicated to the public under the leadership of the Honorable Labour Minister and Chairman of the Board, Shri Santosh S Lad

Menstrual Leave: Policy for Women's Welfare by Santosh Lad
Karnataka Cabinet approved paid one day per month 'Menstrual Leave' for women aged between 18-55 working in all private as well as State sectors. This initiative was curated by Santosh S Lad for women's welfare and well-being. This will benefit approximately 33 lakhs women.

Minimum Wages for Workers: Initiative by Santosh S Lad..
The Labour Department has extended another major benefit to the working class of the state. A notification has been issued revising the minimum wages of workers in the state, with an increase of up to 60 percent. More than one crore workers are expected to benefit from this wage revision. Workers employed in over 81 scheduled employments will receive higher wages.

Transit Accommodation for Migrant Workers: A Dream of Santosh Lad
Registered construction workers’, who migrate from different parts in search of employment, often face hardships due to the lack of proper housing facilities. The Shramika Transit Accommodation for Migrant Construction Workers’ gained remarkable momentum under the dynamic leadership of the Honorable Labour Minister Sri Santosh S Lad, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to the welfare of the labours. The construction of the Shramika transit accommodation for migrant construction workers in various districts has already been completed. The scheme will be expanded to other districts across the state in a phased manner.
